International Business Machine Corp said on Tuesday it has developed a silicon wafer recycling system that may help ease the refined silicon shortage that has limited output of solar energy panels. IBM said it can remove intellectual property from discarded scrap semiconductor wafers made out of silicon. Biodiesel production by enzymatic catalysis
An Italian university research group has developed a new technology dedicated to the green production of a biofuel (biodiesel). This technology is a green alternative to current industrial methods, which uses a heterogeneous biocatalyst (immobilised lipase) that works in mild conditions without the formation of by-products. The university is looking for industrial companies working in the chemistry and biotechnology sector, and are interested in a technical co-operation agreement.

Organic and Metallic Pollutant Extraction Process from Industrial Effluents Without Using Solvent
A laboratory located in Toulouse, France, has developed an ecological process allowing compound extraction from liquid effluents. Addition of organic solvent for component isolation (pollutant or not) is not necessary in both following conditions: high limited thermal environment and low energy consumption. Heavy metals application is possible. The laboratory is seeking industrials to develop and test the process on its industrial effluents.

Absorption method and technology to be used in oil spill recovery, etc.
A small Finnish company has developed and patented technology to absorb liquids like oil using layered mats of peat or other similar material. The main advantages are good properties in oil recovery, environmental friendliness and good cost-efficiency. The technology can be used in oil recovery and absorption of other liquids.
