The contracted recyclers are known as authorised treatment facilities (ATFs) and operate as vehicle dismantlers and scrapyards. From January 1 this year the ATFs will be used by the service providers to deliver free takeback for ELVs. Using this technology, concrete weight is 30% lower than usual, and a lower volume of water is required. The company would like to license the patent to companies from the building sector. This new technology shows an improved behaviour of the pavement structure, when compared with traditional solutions, being possible to obtain better, economical and environmental friendly pavement structures.
