A Belgian/Flemish company has developed an ecological additive for the degradation of deicing products (e.g. on airport runways). These de-icing products are quite effective but organically affect surface water in the area. The water consequently needs to be treated. The technology offered, uses a biocatalyst to enhance biodegradation at lower temperatures. Pyrolysis of products containing hydrocarbon.
A German company developed the technology of pyrolysis. That is a thermal decomposition to the exclusion of oxygen. Macromolecular chains are shortened into shorter, saturated and unsaturated fragments in that process.At temperatures of 600 to 900 degree Celsius develop pyrolysis oils, gases and solid residues. Method of wastewater treatment using nitrification

A company cooperation from Saxony developed a solution for the complete utilisation of domestic waste and industrial waste with autarkic electrical energy generation. Recycling of surfactant from sheepskin aqueous degreasing
A Catalan technology centre based in Spain has developed a system for recycling the surfactant of the aqueous degreasing of sheepskins, consisting in a thermal emulsion breaking of the main and first wash float, and the selective separation of surfactant and fat by a two phase liquid extraction and evaporation of the solvents used. Efficient and Environmentally friendly biodiesel production from microalgae cultures
An Italian agricultural research park has developed a method to produce vegetable oil for biodiesel conversion using microalgae cultured in seawater. The systems can be installed in contaminated water or other marginal areas. Biodiesel production by enzymatic catalysis
An Italian university research group has developed a new technology dedicated to the green production of a biofuel (biodiesel). This technology is a green alternative to current industrial methods, which uses a heterogeneous biocatalyst (immobilised lipase) that works in mild conditions without the formation of byproducts. The first 100% recyclable PET bottle
A small Italian company has developed a plastic bottle, 100% recyclable PET, particularly for mineral water or similar drinks, and the method for its manufacture and packaging. The entire bottle, including the cap, is made of the same material. Paper labels are replaced with surface deformation and laser-moulded labels directly on the plastic. Valorisation of the chemicals available from biorefining of waste biomass
Oil-derived fuels and chemicals are unsustainable, net emitters of greenhouse gases, that are increasingly costly, and intrinsically limited in supply. An alternative sustainable source of chemicals and transport fuels is available from renewable lignocellulosic biomass that do not compete with food production. Pulsed combustion burner technology
A small Dutch company developed a pulsed combustion technology that will increase the production by 40% compared to conventional industrial burners. This burner can be manufactured without moving parts. Method to recover useful materials such as demineralised water, salts, metals, id from aquous process streams.
A Dutch SME has developed a method to recover salts and demineralised water from whey. After the development, a pilot installation was installed at a dairy plant and succesfully put into use. In the apparatus - on the base of mechanical vapour recompression(MVR) - a continuous process of crystallisation of salts takes place.
