Ammonia removal from digested substrates and production of ammonium sulphate fertilizer by using exhaust heat of CHP without addition of alkali or acids
A German SME has developed a procedure to remove ammonia from manure and digested substrates by heating it to 80°C under slightly reduced pressure. The evolving gas is absorbed by an aqueous solution of an absorbent to yield a highly concentrated solution of ammonium sulphate, a valuable fertiliser. No further chemicals have to be added. The company seeks for a commercial agreement with technical assistance with constructors and operators of biogas and sewage treatment plants, respectively. (Ref: 08 DE 0957 0J33)
A new biological pre-treatment for organic solid waste management
An Andalusian research group has developed a new biological pre-treatment for organic solid waste management that consists in a new operating procedure that allows increasing the h y d r o l y t i c r a t e a n d t h e a n a e r o b i c biodegradability of pre-treated waste. Main advantages of this treatment consist in the increase of both the global rate of anaerobic digestion process increases (160%) and the production of biogas (16%).They are looking for licence agreement and technical cooperation.
