Biotechnology for the conversion of waste into added value products
A Spanish research centre has developed a new biotechnology that, using an optimised fermentation process, transforms agro-food waste (i.e. cheese whey) into added value products (i.e. bio-ethanol). The used fermentative microorganisms are immobilised in a hydrogel matrix. A Hungarian SME has developed a new procedure for composting of solid- and liquid-phase animal manure. The offered composting technology is used for composting of different kinds of solid- and liquid-phase feedlot manures.
