Austria - Germany - Tyre Scraps for Road Construction
19/10/2006
(Knoten Weimar Newsletter)
The growing heavy freight traffic requires high load resistance and
durability of the road pavement. In Austria a rubber asphalt was
therefore developed: the addition of a mass percent of rubber meal
from tyre scraps produces a distortion-resistant, very durable
material. The Thuringian Ministry for Construction and Traffic is
testing the innovative road pavement on two climatically different
roads. The extended duration of use should contribute to savings

Zero-pollution multi-fuel combustion system (PCCP)
Developed in North East England, Phase Controlled Combustion (PCCP) can utilise any mixture of hydrocarbon fuel from any source, fossil, vegetable & animal, and burn it very efficiently producing virtually zero pollution. It is a controlled direct injection system, thus the exhaust emissions are free of pollutants. Each stage is completed before passing to the next, unlike conventional combustion where once initiated control is lost. Resourceful collaborator sought for applications development.
